Who We Are and What We Do

The Bradenton Blue Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity established in 2018. The mission of the Foundation is to make the City of Bradenton a safer place for all to live, work, and visit through the fulfillment of unmet, non-budgeted safety needs for its most critical resource - its members.

The Foundation was developed to support our officers and community by raising funds for specialty training, technology, safety equipment, and community outreach.

Through generous donations from community members, businesses and grants from other foundations, the Bradenton Blue Foundation has raised more than $197,000 since inception.

The proceeds from Wagner Realty’s Golf Classic also benefit the Bradenton Blue Foundation annually.

How the Foundation helps our officers:

  • Provided personal protection equipment (PPE) during the COVID-19 pandemic

  • Provided safety equipment for our SWAT team

  • Provided traffic wands for officer safety

  • Restored the Department’s gym

  • Remodeled our training grounds/firing range facilities

  • Provided safety equipment for our School Resource Officers

  • Provided life-saving bag valve masks used in emergency situations requiring resuscitation

  • Provided vet care, bullet-proof vests and training equipment for our K9 officers

  • Through our Animal Welfare Fund, provided medical exams, vaccines, forensic reporting, boarding and care for animals in cruelty investigations

  • Provided investigative funds for cold case and active homicide investigations

  • Provided meals for our officers working during the holidays

How the Foundation helps our community:

  • Back to School Bash - food, fun and back-to-school supplies for children

  • Provided candy for Halloween and Christmas outreach

  • Fill the Truck Toy Drive - collect toys for underserved children at Christmas

  • Honoring the Badge - officers and other members of the Department are paired with local families, shopping around Walmart and providing presents for hundreds of underprivileged Bradenton children who might not otherwise have a gift under the tree for Christmas

  • In partnership with Wagner Realty, host shred events after tax season for our community
